It’s soon time for opening the 13th edition of SBMBNU, 18 June. After a huge amount of preparation, all’s ready in order to make this year’s conference the best over the last few years. Our opening ceremony started with an innovative speech from M. John B. Israel, then the honorable visit of Ms Savaş Cavala. Her words contained remarks and messages regarding the current situation of violence worldwide that everyone has to face today. After this meaningful introduction, Ambassadors from various UN member states,-mostly the most powerful ones, gave their speeches about the importance of the day and the position of this conference concerning SDG16. In order to finish the ceremony, the opening video, created by the press team, was shown to the public, in order to inform all about procedures and relax before challenging debates.

The Stoff Dinner
In order to relax the stoff members after a first MUN day for most of the participants, our secretary general organised an inspiring dinner. According to our information, problems never leave them alone. That means our Secretary General and our stoff members faced a bill disaster, some paid more, some paid less than their evening.
In the end, they had an unforgettable memory left in their minds.
A Surprising Delegate
It’s been a long time since we spoke to a new delegate after the opening ceremony. Specially for SBMBNU26, a prep student came and immediately took part in the conference. He has no formal clothes and not even a badge.
He solved this problem by taking a random badge and writing his name on it.
Even though it happened today, we never recommend this to new participants. Always be sure that you have filled the registration form for your safety.
